Work-Based Learning highlights 2024-25 student successes

The opportunities for work-based learning experiences have grown significantly across our area in the past few years.

As the school year wraps up, the Work-Based Learning program is celebrating the successes of the 2024-25 school year.

The opportunities for work-based learning experiences have grown significantly across our area in the past few years. This year, at Kent Career Tech Center alone, 175 students participated in extended Work-Based Learning Experiences. They were celebrated the last week of April during a recognition and signing day event where they received certificates, acknowledgement and even job offers!

Highlights include:

  • 103 students who completed Teacher Academy which includes Work-Based Learning alongside mentor teachers in classrooms throughout our districts
  • 18 students who were offered jobs to start right after graduation, including several at well-known automotive company Fox Motors
  • 29 Health Career students who are being hired by Trinity Health
  • 3 students recognized for their work as interns with our own Communications team

Congratulations to the students and their teachers, and massive thanks to so many organizations and schools for partnering to provide these real world work experiences!
