The six labs in the automotive department are supplied with the same equipment you would find in any modern repair facility. Students will not have to lie on the floor while they are working on customer cars. We have over 20 hoists for lifting cars and trucks, along with flat bays for repairing cars that do not require lifting.

How would you like to have access to a large toolbox full of tools while working on your car? What if that toolbox was as large as a two-car garage? It's true. Our toolroom is full of Snap-On hand tools such as ratchets/sockets, screwdrivers and wrenches. In addition to the common tools, we also have specialty tools such as scan tools and digital multi-meters. There are too many tools to mention, so sign up for a program visit and ask to see the toolroom.

Our automotive classes operate in the same fashion as a repair facility or dealership near your home. When a customer's car comes in for service, a repair order is written in our on-site parts/service department. After diagnosis, the student will collect the information for an estimate, using our online service information system to gather pricing. After customer approval, students will gather the parts from our parts/service department and complete the repair.

The automotive department has more than three dozen vehicles from a variety of manufacturers that are for student instruction only. It is the responsibility of the automotive department to keep the cars in running condition. The students will practice working on the school cars before working on the customer cars.
