Sports Medicine and Therapies Program Overview

Program Description

This program is perfect for students interested in Sports Medicine careers such as athletic training, and Rehabilitation careers, such as occupational and physical therapies.  students are introduced to the fundamentals of health care, core skills related to sports medicine and therapies, health care professional behavior, and the various pathways to becoming a trained and educated health care professional.

The learning environment reflects a real workplace that students might encounter during a career in Sports Medicine or Rehabilitation.  This includes the use of mat tables, taping stations, walers, gait belts, and wheelchairs.  Students will learn how to use medical terminology in their descriptions of patient care.

Eligible students can earn American Heart BLS (CPR) and First Aid certification.
