Christie Chapin, MSN, MA, BSN, RN
Christie Chapin joined the Kent ISD in 2007. She is currently an instructor for the Sports Medicine and Therapies course. Christie is a registered nurse and a certified CNA trainer with healthcare industry experience in womens' health, pediatrics and education. She also worked in medical sales before turning her talents to educating high school students. In addition to teaching high school students, Christie was an adjunct professor with Grand Rapids Community College. Christie remains employed at Spectrum Health as an RN, bringing current healthcare scenarios into the classroom.
Christie earned a Master of Arts degree from Western Michigan University and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Grand Valley State University. She recently completed the Master of Science in Nursing program at Davenport University.
She thinks that the Health Careers program is important because "we have an opportunity to provide students insight into a variety of health careers." She also thinks that "students grow as they experience what it is like to impact a person's life by providing care for them".
