I am a Career Technical Specialist in the Advanced Health Careers-Nurse Assistant Program.
My special professional interests are in special education, relief aid and elderly nursing. I was a special education nurse and parapro for 7 years. I worked four years as a relief aid nurse, also doing marketing and sales of medical supplies and pharmaceuticals for the agency. I have worked for 3 years as a home care nurse.
My favorite thing about being a Career Technical Specialist is assisting the students in learning their nursing skills, and using those skills in giving direct patient care in the health care setting.
The STUDENTS!! are my favorite thing about KCTC. I love working and interacting with them.
About myself: I attended Calvin College for two years and then went to Grand Rapids Community (Junior) College for certification in Practical Nursing. I am a Licensed Practical Nurse. I am widow. I have six children; two sons, four daughters, ten grand children. Bike riding, boating, swimming and crafts is what I like to do in my time off. My favorite vacations are Hawaii, Costa Rica, Florida and road trips to many areas in the states.
