My name is Amy Herrington. I am a registered nurse. I graduated from Ferris State University in 2005 with an Associates in Applied Science Nursing degree. In 2010, I entered the RN to MSN program at Ferris State University and graduated with a Master of Science in Nursing Education degree in December 2015. I began my nursing career on an inpatient orthopedic unit in the hospital. I have also worked in various healthcare settings including outpatient surgery, an infusion clinic, and home health care. I have also had the opportunity to teach college courses in a nursing program.
This is my third year with KCTC and I will be teaching the Exploring Health Careers class. I have always had a passion for nursing and education. I am excited for the opportunity to share my passion for healthcare with students and allow them to get experience with hands on skills and knowledge about healthcare that may help shape their future decisions.
I live in Rockford. I am married and have two children. In my spare time, I like to spend time with my family and am trying to improve my golf game and love for running. In the fall, we spend a lot of time watching football and enjoy baseball in the spring.
